One youth at a time.

Time4Change (yes Tokens4Change has a new name) in its 9th year is a year-round program run by Youth Without Shelter (YWS) and community partners that educates Toronto students about youth homelessness and art activism. Time4Change culminates annually in T4C Day presented by Tangerine.

We are excited to share that together as T4C’ers on Time4Change Day 2019 you raised $88,000 to support YWS to enable each youth in our care to transition to stable, independent living. This transit fare will support youth as they strive for their educational goals, search for employment and find a home to call their own. T4C Day 2019 bested the funds raised in 2018!

Thank you from all of us at YWS for creating critical awareness about youth experiencing homelessness in our city. Time4Change is very much about the conversations that are the beginning of change to come such as the elderly woman who told a volunteer: “I could have used YWS when I was young” and shared her story; and the questions young students had of the YWS youth speaker at the T4C Showcase. One youth at a time, one step at a time, thank you.

“I’ve experienced eviction, living without hydro, going to bed many nights hungry. My social worker referred me to YWS’s Stay in School Program. At Youth Without Shelter I was able to graduate high school with honors.”
